TAMALPAIS TIMBERWORKS LAUNCHES A NEW APPROACH TO FURNITURE
DESIGN WITH A TOUCH OF PASSION FOR ART AND THE ENVIRONMENT
San Rafael, California - Tamalpais TimberWorks, designer
and builder of environmentally friendly furniture has launched
their latest and most innovative furniture product to date, called
Arts & Culture. Made of wood from sustained and certified
forests, Arts & Culture furniture was previewed in July 1997
at the San Francisco Design and Furnishings Show. There it received
rave reviews for its unique design and application of art. The
furniture is aptly named Arts & Culture because of the many
ways it incorporates design elements and themes, ranging from
ancient pictographs, to images of nature, to modern pop art,
to company logos and product identities to name a few. Arts &
Culture furniture has no boundaries when it comes to application
of art and design.
Arts & Culture furniture employs a unique metal fastening
assembly called an ArtUnion Assembly. ArtUnion Assemblies are
used to join wooden furniture parts and communicate the central
design theme of a furniture piece. An ArtUnion Assembly consists
of a metal plate and connecting bolts. The simplicity of an ArtUnion
Assembly makes Arts & Culture furniture modular and easy
to assemble in minutes with one simple tool included.
